  • Children’s Museum of Indianapolis: Unquestionably one of the state’s top attractions, it’s the world’s largest children’s museum. With five floors of interactive exhibits, including gigantic dinosaurs, a steam engine, a carousel, and historical and artistic collections, this museum will not disappoint.

  • Turkey Run State Park: Enjoy tubing, canoeing, and kayaking down Sugar Creek, as well as hiking the park’s many trails and exploring its narrow sandstone gorges, most notably Rocky Hollow Falls Canyon. Camping and horseback riding are permitted.

  • The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art: Located in Indianapolis at the entrance to White River State Park, the Eiteljorg has one of the premier collections of art and artifacts from Native Americans and the American West.

  • Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari: It’s Christmas every day at this Santa Claus theme park. In addition to roller coasters, amusement park rides, and a splash park, there is a Santa Claus museum and some nearby historical sites related to Abe Lincoln.

  • Heritage Train Lines: Train lovers must be sure to check out White River Valley Railway and/or the Spirit of Jasper. These old-fashioned passenger trains are a trip back in time, with the Spirit of Jasper offering a particularly luxurious setting.

  • Indiana Convention Center: This massive facility in Indianapolis encompasses 1.2 million square feet, including 566,000 of exhibit space and 140,000 of meeting space. It is connected to lodging, dining, and shopping by the nation’s largest network of skywalk tunnels.

  • Horizon Convention Center: For the smaller gathering, this classy, beautiful facility in Muncie will serve well. Offering 47,000 square feet of convention space, the Horizon is located in one of the state’s less expensive cities.
